On January 1, 2021 Justin Phillips became Options Recovery Services’ Executive Director, following the retirement of Thomas Gorham

Berkeley, CA – On January 1, 2021 Justin Phillips, Options’ Operations Officer since 2019, became Options Recovery Services’ Executive Director. Mr. Phillips has a Master Degree in Counseling Psychology and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor. He has held senior leadership roles in the substance use disorder recovery and behavioral health fields for over a decade, most recently as Options’ Operations Officer.
Options’ Board of Directors selected Mr. Phillips from a group of over thirty qualified applicants, aided in its executive search by W. Brown Creative Partners executive search services.
Mr. Phillips states that he was attracted to the Options position because of the mission, history and unique services that Options provides that focus on client needs first. He describes himself as an advocate for cutting-edge substance use disorder and housing services for Options beneficiaries.
Mr. Phillips replaces Thomas Gorham, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Addiction Disorder Counselor, who had served as Options’ Executive Director since 2014. Mr. Gorham will continue to serve Options as a consultant with Options Criminal Justice Program.
