Options Recovery Services provides Drug Testing Services for Alameda County Child and Family Services. The contract began July 1st, 2009.

Through the partnership of Options Recovery Services and Alameda County CFS Department, we hope to relieve and reduce the circumstances threatening the mental and/or physical health of children due to the drug abuse of family members. The program will provide intake and assessment, urinalysis for drug screening, individual, couple/family, and group counseling, and casework support services to substance abusing adults referred by the Alameda County Social Services Agency as a condition for maintaining their children in the home or for reunification with children who have been removed from the home.

Client Contact Number to schedule appointments. An Options staff member will confirm receipt of the referral by phone.

Services Provided by Options for Alameda County CFS include:

Intake Assessment: A one-on-one session with a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor at the time of entry to the program. Most intakes require 60-90 minutes.

Individual Counseling: The client meets with his/her designated counselor for a 50-minute session.

Couple and Family Counseling: The designated counselor meets with the client, partner/spouse, and/or family members for a 50-minute counseling session.

Group Sessions: The client participates in a group session with a drug and alcohol counselor. Groups range in size from 3 to 10 participants.

Casework Support: This may include case coordination, case conferences, report writing, collateral contacts with other therapists, family members, or agencies, and other interventions performed on behalf of the client. Casework will be invoiced on an hourly basis, using 15-minute increments as appropriate.

Drug testing: Urine drug screens will be performed by our Certified Drug Testing staff. As requested by SSA, these tests can either be supervised or non-supervised. Urine samples are screened on-site in our toxicology lab. Therefore, we are able to provide highly accurate same-day results. Our laboratory screens for the following drugs:

  • Amphetamines
  • Methamphetamines
  • Cocaine
  • Morphine
  • PCP
  • Barbiturates
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Methadone
  • Propoxyphene

Screening for Alcohol or Marijuana may be required where the need is justified or recommended in the client’s treatment plan.
